[ Treatability Studies ]

What are they?

Treatability studies are bench-scale studies for bioremediation optimization. Each study is custom designed for a specific site. These studies can be performed on soil, water, sludge and compost samples to get performance information for various types of biological treatment. Treatability studies can range from simple studies that monitor a few parameters over a short period of time to complex studies monitoring many parameters over longer periods of time. Specialized services such as respirometry for measuring metabolic activity are available.

How to decide if a treatability study is needed?

It is best to discuss your project with a project manager at BBC Laboratories to determine the best way to gather the information you need to make your bioremediation project work.

Bioassay Monitoring

  • Standard bioassays - Including aerobic bacteria, anaerobic bacteria, fungi, pseudomonads, actinomycetes, nitrogen fixing bacteria and many others).
  • Specialized bioassays - Including petroleum hydrocarbon degrading bacteria.
  • Custom bioassays - Developed for specific projects.
  • Microorganism Identification
